The End of East Oakland

Like the thread title suggests, this set focuses on the Easternmost end of Oakland between 73rd and 106th, also known as Deep East Oakland. I delved into this area a little on a previous thread (The Heart of East Oakland) but having become a lot more familiar with this area in the past couple of weeks I felt as if I had missed a lot. Honestly, there's still quite a bit of it missing in this thread, particularly of the part below San Leandro Street... Hopefully I'll be able to remedy that by the end of this month.

On this set, I wanted to experiment with the idea that less is more. Instead of taking a bunch of photos in one sitting like I generally do, I tried to take a few photos each day over a period of about a week to see whether I noticed anything different in the process. I also consciously aimed for a set of around 25 photos instead of the usual 75 plus to see if it made a difference in quality control while I was actually shooting. I'll let y'all be the judge of that.

Neighborhoods covered:

Castlemont
Cox
Eastmont
North Stonehurst
Iveywood
Havenscourt
Tassaforanga Village
Eastmont Hills
Highland
Woodland
Elmhurst Park
Arroyo Viejo
Coliseum Industrial Complex

Another Solid one!! I like that last shot a lot.

If you haven't already, you should try to put your photos in as many groups as possible on flickr. I'm sure with the quality of your shots you'll definitely get a lot of them in magazines and maybe even make some extra money

Oakland actually looks like a very interesting city. I find it a tad fascinating that so many people have gates that block their driveways.
