Such a weird place. It's Die Hard meets LA Law meets Gleaming the Cube meets Melrose Place. I know, I'm missing at least a million more...

Great thread Swinefeld!!!

Very interesting! I love the manhole. LA's got as much visual homage to the Mexican/Native art as the visual homage of Native art that seems absent here in Seattle.

Beautiful city, beautiful photographs. You really captured the vitality and dynamism that has turned the place into a net exporter of 'culture.' Stunning.

I nearly missed this rascal, glad I didn't. Excellent thread/pics as always Swiney. Waaaay too many great shots to pic a favorite. But I do have 2 questions. Did ya have to include Manny? And which wrasslin' mask did ya buy?

Thanks

¡Ay carmuba! So many (Manny) questions.

First of all, LA was very nice while I was there. I can't believe more people don't walk in LA, downtown LA anyway.

Secondly, downtown LA has so much potential but there are hugh swaths of it that look abandoned. Turning some of those old buildings into lofts would be a nice start.

Some places in LA I didn't get to but didn't have the time: The Getty Center, Dodgers Stadium, El Tepeyac (burrito place), uh, a few other places I can't think of right now.

The Flyaway buses were great. I would say no more than 10 minutes and being near a metro stop made it very convenient for me. Great system and only $7.

Sorry but Manny is everywhere so, there you go.

¿Which rasslin' mask, you ask? El Swinador of course.

Adios amigos.

Nice photos! I must say, this thread is a bit misleading in my view. You really captured the BEST that LA has to offer, how bout some pics of the terrible traffic, the LA smog, dozens of miles of identical homes, and cops on every corner? I guess LA's not too terrible though. Honestly, seeing some of the photos from the rust-belt cities makes me happy I'm living here.

OK, City of Los Ang-a-leez, what's the deal with the Kings, Clippers, and Lakers all going deep into the playoffs??? You sure are keeping the Staples Center busy. And the Dodgers are going bananas too. Not fair! At least the Angels are sucking balls.

Anyway, all this talk of the hot sports teams of La-La Land brought back great memories of my trip there some years ago.
