^Perhaps you are right Sam. I will say, however, that, from the only rendering I have seen, I do prefer the Hoepf tower to the Foster tower. Of course, I realize that I have not seen enough of the Foster tower and that I have a bias toward the Hoepf tower. Also, it sounds like Foster was commissioned for the NY Shangri-La, whereas Waterview Tower was already designed by the time Shangri-La signed the contract to operate a hotel there. And having a Foster-designed Shangri-La in NY is obviously great for the brand (which is new to the US) and this is good for the Chicago Shangri-La.

I heard a rumor that Teng could possibly be planing another sizable tower for Chicago. I don't know how big or where.

Time will tell.

I noticed a new ad from Century 21, "to announce its affiliation with Teng Real Estate Services, LLC to market the world-class Waterview Tower..."

I guess Teng decided to bring in some additional help to make the units move a bit faster. It might be a good idea.

Century 21 is being brought in only on the hotel/condo side, not the residential side. The price of the units on the residential side actually increased (again) not too long ago (around the time that the core rose above upper Wacker), which says something about the developer's confidence in that part of the project.

Wooohooo! I'll drink to that.

I wonder what that vertical "fence" of rebar to the right in the picture is?

And that confidence in the traditional condo portion would be well-justified. The hotel-condo units is an entirely different story - I still think Teng should be focused on pre-selling the hotel to a traditional hotel owner...

Well remember, there is parking up to the 12th floor, so I am assuming that will become a concrete guard rail for the ramp.

when you go to the featured developments portion of the Century 21 website then click onto Waterview Tower, they are only showcasing traditional condos. When you scroll over the hotel portion of the building there is nothing there.

Yes indeed. Thanks Bvic. I should have thought that one out a touch more.

...I guess this is obvious, but the photo a few posts back showed the windows on the neighboring building which (I guess) will be bricked up ? ....or will they just be left to show the wall of Waterview ...3 inchs away....??
