The cranes will rise with the height of the building. There's no need for them to be 400 feet right now, and in fact that would be very dangerous as there is no building to which to secure them.

I was curious about how they'll pour the sloped concrete ramps in the garage (what with gravity and all) and I found this video. It's obviously a similar process.

Video Link

The pour starts a little after 1:05

They have really dropped the ball on construction this week. If I was managing this site, things would be a lot different. Yes, the weather is making things difficult, but there is much that CAN be done without being fully in the elements. Either way, no city would be built if weather stopped construction. Yes, I am that boss that would make you work hard, but you would be happy at the end of the day with pay and bouses for finishing early and/or exceeding expectations. I said not long ago they would not be past 5 floors (main floors only count) by year end. Looks like I will be wrong by 2 floors. And I think I said that around August. This is NOT Chicago or NYC, but wow...

They're working on the 7th floor now (or 6th depending on how you count it). I think they'll be on the 9th (8th) by year's end if they continue at the current rate.

Based on the webcam, they are finally starting the garage this week.

ˆˆ And it seems as though they're using pre-cast pieces, at least so far. That would make it easier to do the ramps, anyway.

Does anyone have access to plans for the garage/retail portion?

Yes! Thank you!

So they're constructing the loading bay right now. It's pre-fabulous!

Angle looking north, 12/14/17

You can see the floor starting to change with the angle!

Does anyone know how tall the total floor count will be, minus the crown? Using simple math and observation, I am thinking 343 ft, with the crown being 43 (42.8) ft for a total of 386 ft. But if someone actually knows the details, please share.

Also, anyone know how tall it is at current?

Just a guess but if each floor is about 15 feet and you count the main lobby as two floors, that would make it 105 feet to the floorplate of the 8th (current) floor (which is the top of the 7th), and 120 feet to the top of the core.

That would mean the crown is only 23 feet height.

With the retail going in along the whole block of West Houston Street while keeping the trees, combined with the San Pedro Creek revitalization, the block could suddenly become a wonderful place if the same thing happens on the other side of the street.

Not sure how new this is, but the Frost Tower seems to have its own dedicated website now:

https://thefrosttower.com/

On the desktop version there is a short animation of how they anticipate the tower to look during a typical day and night, I converted it to a simple GIF:

The full-length/high-quality version of the video (.mp4) is here:

And there are a few renderings on there that I hadn't seen yet (courtesy of thefrosttower.com):
