You're right, living in Manhattan where parking is cheap and bountiful has clearly warped perspective of parking costs.

Look, I was making a guesstimate on the fact that parking lots are rarely at capacity, drivers commuting into downtown will probably leave their car for a good portion of the day, and parking lots tend to be pretty empty after a certain hour. If 12-hour parking runs between $20-30, than on average each spot may be bringing in $20 a day. Maybe I'm way off, but unless you can present me with the traffic volume or revenues from a comparable lot, I'll stick by my estimate.

This discussion is getting way off topic. I'm going to refrain from any more banter that isn't about Waterview itself.

Does this mean that even though structural work has stopped, they are doing some interior work? Does anyone know the extent of current interior work underway i.e are they also doing the electrical and HV/AC work as well?

Also, is anyone willing to make a wager as to which building CS or WV has a better chance of being completed?

Probably part of a sprinkler system, I would guess. Important and required work for even a vacant building and insurance purposes.

If it burned down in its current state, I'd be one surprised-ass son of a bitch.

Don't you know how combustible any material can be, even concrete, when the property owner is financially strapped.

In addition, major construction has temporary temporarily stopped on the Waterview Tower, a planned 90-story hotel-condominium skyscraper. After a search of at least two years, the project’s developers and designers, Chicago-based Teng, announced last month that they had secured $340 million in construction financing that will allow the skyscraper to be finished by mid-2010. Major construction is to resume in July, a Teng spokesman said.

^^^ I don't get it, why are you celebrating? They released that when the construction slowed/stopped... Nothing new has been said. Celebrate when the financing is for certain (not just predicted by a Teng spokesperson) and we see new floors being poured.
