I feel ya, just skim past all the other stuff I guess.

Less than a month until the Toronto Arrows kick off their second season. That's the sports in Canadian culture that I'm pumped about!

Well since I don't live in Toronto it's at least "Ontario culture".

Wish they never renamed from Ontario Arrows to be honest. I had managed to avoid cheering for any Toronto teams until then.

Well the Canadian baseball establishment shouldn't be seeking the US baseball establishment's stamp of approval in order to recognize Larry Walker. Do Americans get their knickers in a knot when one of theirs isn't recognized in another country? What should matter is what the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame thinks of Larry Walker.

I guess Dominicans shouldn't be seeking the approval of the Baseball HOF for Vladdy, Pedro and Marichal either.

Can't really think off the top of my head any sports in the US that they take seriously but the preeminent league is based in another country... where that HOF might also be located.

Raonic has been a nice surprise at the Australian Open. He's been playing incredibly aggressive and has been solid. He's been playing at his 2016 level where he made Wimbledon's final. After 3 matches, he hasn't even been broken yet and has just defeated 6th seed Tsitsipas.

Only Nadal, Djokovic and maybe Medvedev could beat him if he continues playing this well.

Next is Cilic in the Round of 16. Milos should be able to win this.

^^ I suspect many people would like to see Milos finally win a slam.

Which makes the fuss all the more unnecessary.

Not sure why you see this as whatever the Canadian baseball establishment is seeking approval from the US. This is about the player receiving the highest honour in his sport.

I watched Canadian track cyclist Kelsey Mitchell win a silver medal in the sprints at the Track Cycling World Cup at the velodrome in Milton this evening. It was a fun evening of racing featuring a smorgasbord of different types of races. At times the scoring and strategy were a bit complicated to follow along with, though thankfully my dad and I sat next to a knowledgeable American couple here for the weekend who explained the finer points of it all to us.

The Baseball HOF is the pinnacle hall of thier sport and is notoriously a challenge to attain entry into. All of these players want to recognized by thier peers as being part of the best, this is why the HOF means so much to them. To be in a hall that also has players such as Babe Ruth, Frank Robinson, Ted Williams, Nolan Ryan is a different level as these men are the pinnacle of talent that played the sport.

Nothing wrong with supporting Canada but your bias is off base. There is clear reason for Mr. Walker to value the Baseball HOF entry more versus the Canadian Hall.

As expected Raonic wins in 3 sets against Cilic. After 4 matches, he still hasn't been broken once.

I suspect that's going to change in the next match against the greatest returner of all-time. The head-to-head is 9-0 for Novak.

I didn't expect Raonic to beat Cilic as easily as he did. I thought Cilic had looked pretty good in earlier matches. Will be nice if Raonic can actually give Djokovic a run this time and maybe even beat him...
