I recently saw a nice shot of the Kelowna " downtown " , its starting to look more and more like a good sized city!

^That's a great shot and the first one i've ever seen which makes Kelowna actually appear to have a skyline.

It sounds like the 24 tower is a go. It should start construction on Bernard Ave. this year. It will add some much needed life to that part of downtown.

And finally the SOPA development. Is this approved? What an awesome development for the Mission area. Out of all the developments happening in Kelowna, this is by far my favourite.

I really need to go out and take some pics. Sopa Square is approved and is supposed to start construction in the spring. There's a lot of great infill projects in South Pandosy that should be starting up this year. I'm looking into renting a place in the Madison...they have some units at pretty reasonable prices right now. Also, I notice the lot across from what was to be Caban (across from Gyro) has obtained a buiding permit - located at Swordy/Lakeshore.

Thanks for the pics, the Madison looks pretty nice.

So, are there currently any new towers u/c in Kelowna (that are not t/o), or are they all in the proposed, approved, stalled and canceled phases?

This development will be taking the place of the bottle depot, positioned between Sopa Square the the development posted further up the page.

I didn't see much going on when I was there. It was pretty clear no one had been at the Lucaya site in a while.

I did see a large project from a distance, appeared to be at the Hospital. Also, there was a lot of activity at the Stuart Park site.

I had to go to Kelowna again on Saturday, so I got a couple more pics...

This is INvue, looks pretty new, on Springfield Road near the mall

Not sure what this is...it's right behind the Landmark Centre

KGH expansion

The Lofts Downtown (Ellis Street)...not sure about that exposed concrete...looks unfinished

And also, I managed to grab a 'skyline' shot from City Park on the way out of town...

All pics by me taken 2010-01-09

Fantastic update, bulliver. I don't think the Kelowna thread has ever seen this much love.

Invue is indeed new. It was open in early 2009

Awesome pics, thank you very much. Is 24 the next tower to go up? Or is Lucaya have any hope or re-starting construction again this year?
