Yes it's a TRIGA reactor and you can tour the NETL facilities at Pickle, provided your group passes the required background check: http://nuclear.engr.utexas.edu/netl/...s-a-procedures You can also submit a "Request for Operation" to preform nuclear experiments using UT's reactor. What that entails I don't even know.

This is a core photo from the UT website:

Looks like the Lakeline TOD is going to see a little action. Supposed to be apartments with ground floor retail on these two lots adjacent to the station:

Those lots can be built up to 120'.

I don't know much about the Lakeline PUD.

http://blog.cushwake.com/wp-content/...P_10.13.17.pdf

From some googling, it sounds like the official name of it is the "Leander Rehabilitation Planned Unit Development "

Why Leander when it's not in Leander, I don't know.

Highland and Plaza Saltillo both have a lot under construction. I can't remember how much Broadmore was approved for but they will have a crap ton. Trains will be every 15 minutes in 2 years and it's possible to expand capacity by elongating the train platforms and buying more trains. The Red Line gets a lot of shit but I think more people are going to come around as these developments take hold.

Except that you're still greeted with a giant parking lot when you get off the train. I'd prefer if they swapped with the development so that the development (and possibly some future retail) could abut the tracks.

Why Leander when it's not in Leander, I don't know.
As I recall, the site was once occupied by the Hog Farm of the Leander Rehabilitation Hospital. It was also referred to as the Hog Farm PUD.

It seems like the Leander name would be associated with the Leander TOD at that stop. Weird.

That said, I've wondered for a while what would go in between the massive parking lot and Lyndhurst. Cool to see some retail there. I'm hoping that this area can get a little more walkable (even though it will never be fully so). Every little bit helps. Fortunately, there is a huge undeveloped tract bordered by Lyndhurst, 45N, Lake Creek Pkwy, and Lakeline Mall Dr. just to the SW of this development. Room to grow - and even more so along Lakeline Blvd. all the way to Parmer Ln., but I don't see how that would be anything but single-family housing - one can dream though! With the huge new Apple complex going just south of there, demand may be there for more density.

I noticed the shuttered Sears building at Parmer + I-35 is being redeveloped. I was curious about what it was. Some Googling brought me to this 2017 article describing an AMC theater that serves food and alcohol. https://www.kxan.com/news/business/t...ater/994902419

Maybe that's what they're building and there was just a delay?

I drive by this almost everyday during the week. I did a brief stint with Sears and AMC was going to share space with Sears as they downsized that store. I don't think AMC anticipated Sear's entire exit. Since Sears left, they demolished the never fully utilized outdoor garden center and Auto center and are constructing a big box in their place separate from the main structure. If that's not going to be a theater, then I have no idea what the heck that thing is. If it is, I can't imagine how that large empty Sears is going to be repurposed. Its a safe bet that AMC delayed or reversed its plans when they found out Sears was probably going to close the store. We always knew it was a matter of when, not if.

They bought the closed sears to convert to a an AMC. It totally looks like a theatre with the construction they have done so far.

The FAA permit for Domain II states that it will be 274'. The height I had for it previously was 253'.

I thought Domain Tower III and the Residential were suppose to start before Tower II. I looked around at the search and did not see anything for the other towers. Does the 11/28/2019 date sound right, is that date pretty sound if this request is in ?

Alterra Pkwy is going to need stop lights soon.
8 lanes at a 4-way stop + pedestrians + parking garage exits is just a cluster****.
