talavera condo/hotel @ the rim

Reata has been awarded the following high profile leasing assignments in San Antonio.

Reata is now pre-leasing The Shops at Talavera, a 260,000 S.F. specialty retail/office and residential development within The Rim shopping center on IH-10 and La Cantera Parkway. The Shops at Talavera will be located in front of the future five-star Talavera Hotel and between the already-open and popular Bass Pro Shops and Paladium IMAX Theater.

In addition, Reata has acquired the leasing assignment for a new mixed-use development with 853,000 S.F. of entertainment, retail, office, restaurant and residential space uniting Old World Charm with upscale modernism. Tacara is a development project of Darren Casey Interests in San Antonio and Marathon Real Estate Opportunity Fund.

Also new to the Reata leasing portfolio is Rialto Village located at IH-10 and Ralph Fair Road. This 160,000 S.F. lifestyle center combining residential, office and retail components will begin construction 3rd QTR 2007.

Where is Tacara being built? That's another 900,000k in retail going up.

Is that 260,000 sq. ft. in addition to the 2 million sq. ft of The Rim?

Also, do you know when construction wll begin on the hotel?

I wonder when actual construction would start on the hotel...I know that all the land that is cleared behind the already built areas is greater in size...There is still A LOT of unused land...I really don't know why they would wait so long to start construction..It feels driving down la cantera pkwy...And it just ending and still seeing all the construction...

I never knew how huge The Rim was. I thought it was just the 2 million sq. ft. of retail but its not. The size of The Rim looks to be twice maybe even three times as much land as is being developed with retail.
