ATLANTA | Gallery | 26 FLOORS

Not sure what happened to the Gallery thread (?). Can't find it, so I started a new one. Here's a construction update from Sunday 1/14/07. Drive-by photos shot through the windshield/sunroof (sorry for the quality).

ive heard others compare gallery to a vertical prison or something line that. i don't get it. when topped out, finished and lit (hopefully they light the crown), this will be a really nice addition to southern buckhead. i also like the concept of the gardens at street level....lets see how they execute.

Why are they putting the glass up so randomly?

That's going to look amazing at nighttime. Buckhead is becoming a city within itself. Too bad the buildings don't collaborate with the main skyline. I love Atlanta (family there), but there are lots of gaps to fill.

I think around 400-450 feet (I pulled that number out of where the sun don't shine)

Gallery is an odd one for me. I actually think the glass and what not is going to make it look better in real life than the rendering. I agree the rendering could look a little prison-ish. I think the real thing is looking better.

By the rendering I'm guessing their going to put EIFS on the concrete. I hope they don't as it looks like shit every time Novare does this.

I'd doubt it would hit 400ft. 28 floors * 11ft [floor] = 308ft. The crown would add a max of 50 ft. If I get a chance to get by the site I'll try finding the building permit.

I'm really think that's the issue most people have with Novare's towers moreso than fact that they are so similar. I mean most residential towers anywhere are similar depending on the time period they were built.

Too bad the Kensington never rose there in the spot Gallery has, it would look so much better.

What project is that in the foreground that has the white tower crane? (Is that Mezzo or the Astoria?)

Also, they have once raised the tower cranes at Gallery even higher.

I think its the crane for the addition at Piedmont Hospital.

ThrashATL:
I agree with your opinion of The Kensington...it was a very distinctive looking building (no luck yet in finding the rendering).
