For the first time since 2001, Saskatchewan's population has topped one million.
Premier Brad Wall is confident the numbers will continue to rise.
"More and more people are discovering what so many of us already knew - that Saskatchewan is the best province in the best country in the world," stated Wall in a press release.
Statistics Canada just released its quarterly report showing that the province has gained 6, 430 people since July 1 2007 - the largest increase since Statistics Canada began tracking quarterly population rates in 1971.
"Saskatchewan is the place to be right now and people are moving here by the thousands," stated Wall.
The province's population now stands at 1,003,299 as of Oct. 1, 2007.
Saskatchewan had the highest growth rate in Canada - a rate of .65 per cent. Alberta's growth rate was .37 per cent.
Well we are finally coming back from the dead! Good things the Sask Party will be able to take credit for this!
