Why do they renovate so much in LD? Is there not enough zoned land that forces them to renovate an older tower rather than build new? This is the third major tower to be renovated into something taller, I think.

I like it, but what part of the current tower are they going to add the new section? And are they just planning on adding the skygardens on top of the current tower or would they tear some floors inside and change the facade?

La Défense is filled with mid-rises and squat skyscrapers that use virtually all the area. The only possibilities are reconstructions/renovations and removals of existing motorways.
Nice design, although I could think of quite a few towers in La Defense that could use a renovation before Tour Gan such as Tour Aurore or Tour Ariane.

Aurore is probably going to be demolished.
Ariane has been renovated already... it's hard to tell when you see it, but it's true.
It was those two curved buildings, these was proposed for Signal contest but not selectionned so actually this project is closer to cancelled than approved.
