Can you point me to where this was said? I haven't seen anyone post any kind of inside information about the height being decreased. Conjecture based on oil prices doesn't count as credible source of information.

I don't see why people are getting worked up over this; if the building does indeed go ahead at 62 floors, then in am sure the title will be adjusted to reflect it. it will still be Edmontons tallest skyscraper by far; whether it ends up around 725' or 825', is really of little consequence.

Seriously, this is a dumb thing to argue over. There are some people from outside Edmonton trying to stir stuff up for reasons unknown; my advice to the edmontonians is don't take the flame bait, ignore them and move on.

I love the fact that some posters can't deal with the fact that Edmonton is getting a tower like this.
If pointing out the facts is considered whining, then I take your post as a compliment.

If you would like to further discuss this matter, please feel free to PM me.

DarthMalgus: I agree. I don't know why some folks are so negative about about the height changes. I hope it's given more height myself! However, at either height, it's hopefully going to be a great addition to Edmonton!

It's about the authenticity of the data and not the actual figures themselves. It's not clear to people unfamiliar with the project that the data presented in the title is purely speculative. The question mark for the spire height suggests the others are accurate too. There should be question marks beside each figure.

It's false advertisement.

Whatever the case is, I guess we'll find out soon enough. Low oil prices or not, the building is going ahead from the looks of it.

Had a look at a set of schematics yesterday that indicate the floor count at 64+roof element.
I'd guess this is likely the final number of floors with final height TBD

Edmonton's downtown transformation is nothing short of incredible. And it seems to be happening so fast...this might be the biggest downtown transformation (proportionally speaking) in Canada in recent memory.

Possibly the biggest transformation in N.A for a metro of 1million plus.

You must live in a cave..the 80's? the late 90's? 2007-2009? My uncle had a fleet of 30 surveyor trucks, during 80's bust every truck sat in a parking lot for 18 months.

Everyone knows Alberta is boom...bust economy.
Growth continues...yes at a slower rate.
BTW; your quote makes zero sense> have always lived in Calgary...compared to anywhere else I have lived...huh?

Can't let anyone compliment Edmonton. Nope. Must not be allowed to pass unchallenged.
