I spent a lot of hours this weekend trying to gain some control over the trash in my neighborhood here in Downtown L.A. I love SoCal., but I wish we excercised the same care with our streets as SLC. Salt Lake City is so comparitively clean. Keep up the good work!

Wow, So many great pics, I wouldn't even know where to begin to pick my favorites. Some of the many would be the different angles of the new Federal Courthouse. I know it's not everyone's favorite, but I really like that building. It's simple, maybe even a little minimalist, but still very different among the other buildings downtown, and I like that. Can't wait to see the AIR tower eventually added across the street. Another thing I noticed in you pics Anthony is how many new additions have been made to Downtown over the last few years. Whether it's simply improving the curb appeal, getting rid of another surface parking lot or massive new projects like CCC and 111/UPAC, there's so much going on continually. I imagine that right about the time that 111/UPAC is ending, there will be an overlap as the new Hotels begin, including the new Convention Center Hotel.

ToyNoiz, please post the pic below that caught you. That's hilarious!

Yes ToysNioz, please post the photo that you are in.
I have looked many times to see if I can recall when I ran into you. The only time I can remember was me standing on the corner of 200 S and Main St. waiting for the light to change and I noticed two guys who had just crossed the street, one of them was taking photos...

Delts, I like the Federal Courthouse building as well. It is simple yet stands out from all the others in our city. I think the only thing missing on it is some kind of night time lighting effects. It would be nice if they did a glowing crown on top. Once more structures (AIR Center) are constructed near the courthouse the area will have a great look and vibe.

Agree Tony, As the buildup of W. Temple continues, the Mix of structures like the Courthouse become increasingly distinctive and interesting. Would you use a color spectrum choice on the evening lights of the courthouse? I think a clear illumination would be nice, and perhaps also some sort of pale blue maybe from time to time...Agree though, at least an attractive clear/white evening lighting would be a smart touch for the that design of structure.

Great thread. SLC has a wonderful downtown area.

Personal amusement - about 16 years ago I designed the exit stair on the left-hand side of the photo below. Nothing special about it at all, but it was a learning experience for me in how to detail steel. I designed about 10,000sf inside the building for MCI-Worldcom too, but I'm not even sure it's there anymore. Always fun for me on the rare occasions when one of my projects shows up on SSP.
