Sometimes the lighting makes all the difference. Cloudy, near dusk, misty. Beautiful!

Yeah, these are high quality city photo conditions. Just dark enough to make the lights pop, not enough to lose daylight.

EDIT: I don't ever notice the Seaholm Intake building from these angles, but it's pretty prominent here. I think when that finally gets rebuilt it'll be an amazing amenity, and visually pretty awesome, to boot.

Yes, I was surprised by how great this one came out. I tried to take some dusk shots but the cloudy condition really added on to the lighting. Thank you!

I love the FC! I just think the Fairmont can do a better job of celebrating the FC than those sad diagonal white letters.

Here is a panorama I took this evening downtown. Zooming in, just to the right of UT Tower, you can see the Domain.

Very cool photo. Can you retake that on this day every year moving forward? Exact same spot. Would be cool to see the transformation continue.

And I'd love to see the height increase in the Domain, by the way (as well as West Campus). I've said it before, but I love cities with multiple (taller) skylines. It's a truly cool effect.

You can indeed just spot the Domain towers on the horizon in that pano! They sit roughly between the Four Seasons Residences and the Hilton.

Haha! Every month would definitely be something cool to see as far as progress goes. It wouldn't be easy duplicating the sunset and its colors though!

I am absolutely working on something from the West Campus area looking back south toward the skyline. Hopefully in the near future I'll have something good to show for it.

old videos on youtube

i follow a couple of cool history posters on twitter. an old video of austin came up and of course youtube is now recommending all types of old austin videos. i thought this one of transportation projects from 1983 would be of interest here.
