Establishing the facts about the Beetham Tower in Manchester

Hi,

I am trying to establish some facts about the Beetham Tower in Manchester.

There are differing figures about the Tower.

Some articles say that the Tower has 47 floors (e.g. http://www.beethamtower.org/manchest...er-manchester/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beetham_Tower,_Manchester ) whereas others say it has 48 floors (http://www.mace.manchester.ac.uk/und...s/beetham.html) . Similarly, some websites state the Beetham Tower is 168m high (http://www.beethamtower.org/manchest...er-manchester/), whereas others say it is 154m high (http://www.mace.manchester.ac.uk/und...s/beetham.html).

Can someone please help me try and establish the facts about how many floors the Tower has and how tall it is please?

Thanks in advance,

James

This site's records say both 49 and 50 floors. Sometimes there is confusion because of an omitted 13th floor. The building is listed as 157.0 m to the roof and 169.2 m to the tip of the glass blade.

Thanks very much Zerton I appreciate the feedback!

So do you know if the 13th floor has been omitted then in the Beetham Tower?

Yeah no problem.

I'm not really sure. Try calling Ian Simpson Architects. A great resource for this stuff is the diagrams: http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/

good luck
