Even from this distance, it looks taller than Aon!
Great Pics! You can really see Vista's core emphasized in the second photo. And the first one shows how independent and towering she is filling the void between Aqua and SoNo.

I was speaking to one of the site superintendents yesterday and got some very good intel. They just poured the 90th floor two days ago. Core is at 94 and he says it's topped out. Must be 94 above upper Wacker. We'll see if they start disassembling core formwork or if it has to climb again to the roof level.

The hotel portion (up through 12th floor) which has changed ownership, is being entirely redesigned. All the brand new MEPs have to be demolished. New plans are coming out for the space and all the work that's already installed has to go. Absolutely insane.

Work has been slow going the last week with the weather getting worse. Tuesday or Wednesday, they clocked the wind speed on 70th floor at 80 MPH. It was 15mph on the ground. They had a piece of formwork collapse inward. Smashed a whole bunch of gangboxes and equipment.

What a mess the hotel portion has been. I guess we are lucky this whole deal didn't fall apart with the Chinese government forcing a pull back right in the middle. Atleast the economy was going so strong they were able to find a buyer rather quickly for their portion.

So around 3 months into glass installation and it is still going rather slow. They must be having some fit issues as someone already said the east side has hardly any glass and not one floor is done completely.

thanks for that update skyguy, my jaw dropped after reading about hotel redesign, and the 80mph winds baffle me. this is not a project i'd want to be monetarily invested in!! if I was taking ownership of the hotel i'd say forget about how we normally do things, we are using whatever these guys have already installed and saving cash

edit: is the hotel redesign going to affect the frustum pattern outside the lobby?!? i hope not, still really want to see that as part of the finished building

I'm having difficulty seeing the core as topped out unless the top parapet/glass screening covering the mechanicals is like 3 floors tall. The top portion wouldn't symmetrical at all without that

This is for sure not topped out, tower crane is jumping again on Monday. the webcam shows that there has been 5-6 more tower crane pieces delivered and ready for assembly for another jump.

Great set, Harry

Really can’t wait to see how the glass color variation comes out. So far I’m a fan

Good catch, which I never noticed before. I kind of like the idea of no taper at the top. Gives it more a feel of a crown. The E and W sides of the shortest setback also don’t taper, so this ties the building together nicely.

Anyone know how many more feet before TO? It appears to only have about a floor left or so.
