It says 60% at the site. If anything, they would inflate their sales numbers, no?

I think they are likely going to publish a new sales number, shortly.

I'm assuming that will be when they release the remaining units to the public.

Anyone have an inside track as to when this will get underway, or if a height increase is to be requested?

I am confused. The title of this thread is still 75 floors/ 253m tall. Which is the correct height and number of floors?

NIMBYs won a height decrease. The bizarre part is that the 10 floor reduction still blocks their view of the lake so the whole exercise has been 100% pointless. This building would have to get shrunk down to about 5-6 floors to preserve the views from the residents who complained.

I think it was more likely that Tridel didn't feel the market was there to build at the taller height, or else you can bet that they would have fought the city and appealed to the OMB.

I thought they did fight the decision and lost?

The city reduced the height but Tridel didn't fight it or threaten to go to the OMB. Remember that this was released at the start of the "down market" in new condo sales.

I don`t think it had anything to do with the softening of the market. Ten York sold out like crazy - they surely could have sold the project easily at 75 stories. I do remember it had to do with the YQNA (York Quay Neighbourhood Association) and ultimately the City.

no, Tridel willingly shortened it. I think they were expecting sales to be much worse, so they dropped it. I think they only took off 3 floors for the NIMBYs. the rest was Tridels doing.

To me, it still screams Tridel - which isn't a good thing. The protruding precast ruins it for me. No thanks.

I actually like it. I think the "picture frame" effect created by the protruding precast gives some variety to the facade.

The protruding precast could have an LED lighting effect during the night hours which would also be pleasant.

I like the latest design. Just wish it could be a little taller.

It doesn't look too spandrel heavy...

Could be worst, and this rendering looks better than the previous.

The rendering is crisp. I wish it were the original height.

To be honest the entire building looks fine to me but the only factor that worries me is the direction in which this is facing. The precast/spandrel sides face the lake (and ice) so I just hope that doesn't take away from the skyline. In other words I just hope we don't see a huge wall of spandrel.

Do they? That latest rendering is showing the north face of the building. Or is it the same, just mirror image on the south side too?
