So if you entered the house from the garage, the first thing you saw was the toilet. The show homes were on a cul-de-sac and this very house was the house you saw in front of you when you drive down the street. So if the garage door was open and the door from the garage to the house was open you could see the toilet clear as day from the whole street! Image sitting there doing your business and someone else comes home and opens the doors!
This very thing happened to my father. The house we lived in was a ranch style one story house. It was long and narrow with a central hallway. The carport and back door opened into the kitchen, which opened to the living room, which followed the hall and dead-ended into the bathroom. Shortly after moving in, my dad was standing in the bathroom talking to a man about a horse, when someone (female) knocked at the backdoor. Since he was the only one home, he hadn’t bothered to close the bathroom door. The lady was able to see my dad form completely on the other side of the house. They ended up remodeling...

who builds the steelwork all the way to the top but nothing else? Last I checked, most buildings the steelwork is only ahead of the floors / wall etc. by a few stories at a time... It's probably for the best that this thing was deconstructed.

And yes hammersklavier, those look like brand new cement ties (which are expensive!) and the rail still has some shine to it (indicating it's not abandoned). Also note the 3rd rail on the right, so it's not even like this is a spur!

The Art and Architecture Building at the University of Illinois at Chicago has stairs leading to blank walls and in general is a maze or a real M.C. Escher environment. It is this way because the building was supposed to be bigger than it ended up being. I am sure somebody on here might have pics of it.
