Really good to know it is getting started soon. River North will be such a nice area.

Good news, hope the retail aspect starts a good start for the whole area. Lots of space near and around the location...

I drove past this morning and I can confirm that work is being done.
There was a dumpster being dropped off at about 0800 this morning and some digging/road work being done along Ave. B and Jones.

Finally.

Also, 1915 Broadway has a date with the Zoning Commision. For those that don't remember, 1915 Broadway was the 7-story mixed-use project.

^^^ I was just wondering about that, I noticed all the orange "fences", if we can call them that, are no longer at the site... I was afraid it was scrapped, but this is great news! Seven stories right off the highway is gonna look pretty cool.

Those fences are confusing me. Are they to stop people parking there?

They're definitely doing real work. I go by there alot, and they're always using some sort of heavy equipment like earth movers jackhammers etc.

I can't believe they said on the news they expect to be ready by next Spring. That's fast, but then again they already have the frame up.

Nothings moving at the location. same ol, same ol. those developers know how to get the press sucked in just to keep the word out. when they say- starting back up, really means they're going to park a tractor nearby and station a few guys to pick up dead leaves at site. pass by all the time and still has nothing major developing.

When I last went by there, I noticed nothing happening on it also but I figured it was because it was a Saturday.

There's plenty going on. Go on Ave. B side and you'll see that they have completely demo'd the "walls" that were up, and they have cleared out the open areas between the buildings. The plumbers were also there all last week.
I drive by it every day after work.
I'll be taking pics on Thursday; I'll swing by.
Also, they look to be clearing out the can warehouse over at Pearl.

Why are you wasting breath attacking the best developer in town? Save it for George Geis's of the real development world.

Any pics on the progress on Twelve Twenty-One? I fly back to San Antonio on Thursday so I'll take some pictures this weekend if no one posts.

Alot has been going through the council agenda in the past couple of weeks;
authorization for the PS HQ's, statement of "talks" with SAISD for Friedrich land swap, extension for use of funds for Steel House Lofts and approved zoning for 1915 Broadway - The Mosaic

Quote:
The Mosaic
The 125,000 square foot mixed-use commercial and multi-family project will be located on a vacant urban city block between Josephine and Grayson streets on Broadway. The development will consist of retail, restaurant, and office spaces on the 1st floor, and 114 residential apartments on the 2nd-4th floors. With convenient access to US 281, IH-35, the Pearl Brewery development, downtown, the Witte Museum, the Museum of Art, the Botanical Gardens, the San Antonio Zoo, Brackenridge Park, the Brackenridge Golf Course and the Museum Reach of the San Antonio River walk the project will achieve high marks in the LEED rating system in the location and linkages and sustainable sites categories.
the site is 1.8 acres and the zoning allows for 70 units per acre..... So that gives us 114 units on 3 floors; 4 floors total. 6-7 would've been nice, but 4 is better than a bank or something else that would've wasted the space.

Not sure of the timeline on this one but they just keep adding up:
211 - Can Warehouse Building/Pearl
73 - Retail/Admin Apartments/Pearl
268 - Broadway Lofts/1221 Broadway
114 - Mosaic/1915 Broadway
666 units to be built, with 19 built at Pearl to date.

Wow! If they build these and develop all those other empty lots along Broadway, it is going to look very different in 3 to 5 years.
