Yes, you're right. Always nice to replace an empty lot with something interesting.

Blah_Amazing, thank you for taking the time to create the map I didn't realize how many projects were in the works on the west side. Your map really puts things into perspective.

I do think that the Greenprint Gateway project is a definite improvement over the Central Station designs. In addition to the ground floor engagement and parking numbers, it looks like they want to use brick on parts of the facade. The design itself is nothing special but it at least seems like a half-decent infill project to me.

Also, BSL put up an awesome residential photo update this morning:

If Greenprint can muster some ground floor retail then all the arguments about why Alta Depot can’t (Amazon eating retail, crappy neighborhood, infrastructure etc.) are not valid. All development should at least be required to have townhomes facing, live work, retail or admin space that could easily be converted to retail. This doesn’t seem radical.

I am happy to report that my database requests for 95 State, the CCH (Hyatt Regency), and Liberty Sky have all finally been processed and these buildings have been added to the SLC SSP city page. Now we need an artist to get some diagrams going!

Now they gotta get rid of "151 tower" on their list

Yeah, Artemco asked if it was the same project and I said yes, but he still left it up for some reason. I was hoping he would just merge it with Liberty Sky but alas. It already took six months to get these three requests through.

95 State up to 11 stories:

I actually thought I had submitted a request for Kensington, but I can't find it now. I will make a new request.

Any new photo updates of Liberty Sky's progression?
I moved from the downtown area and now I don't get to see any progression of all the new high rises. I guess I was spoiled by just being able to look out the window.

I recently moved to the up-and-coming west side of downtown so I should be able to get more pictures of downtown projects. Things have just been hectic for me.

Also, one correction to your (awesome) map blah_amazing - The Beverly (#5) is well under construction and framed out.

Looks like Cox is gonna hold off Huntsman.

I know many of you will be disappointed, but hey, at least it's not Hughes.

NYT says only 48% of SL County is reporting. If that's true, it's too early to call it for Cox.

Kind of a bummer if Cox does pull through. Huntsman would be better for SLC.

Yeah, I caught that one as well after the BSL photo updates. Since I haven't been out to the west side since last fall, I have to rely mostly on the updates on this forum.

I made the corrections needed, including adding the social club, updated the beverly, and a few other changes as well. Hopefully this makes this map a little more accurate.

I think this is great. The number of projects is amazing. I think there is only 2 more projects to be added, at least that I can see.

1. Utah State building to replace the Road Home. This will most likely be the new home for the State Archives.
2. Planned UTA Tower at Central Station.

I figured it might be good to list these as they are most likely to happen in the next few years.

Makid, I don't know if you'd know anything about this or not, but you're the person who knows things...have you heard anything about a Utah State History Museum? I've worked with the State Historical Society on various projects over the years, and it's something that's always whispered about...that Utah is one of the few states that doesn't have an actual history museum. We have Mormon History Museums, Natural History Museums, but not state. Have you heard anything about that?

There is the Pioneer Museum as well, just up Main Street near the Capitol.

I know that there has been talk in the past, years ago. The problem is that there were some in the Legislature that wanted the Museum in Fillmore, others in Salt Lake, near the archives, and the others that wanted it at the Capitol building or the Fair Park.

With the Archives setup to move to a new building, I personally think that this would be a great opportunity to incorporate a State History Museum into the Archive building.

I haven't heard anything recently (last 2 years) but I will keep an ear out.
