Why wouldn't Hines use a Miami architectural firm?

Pickard Chilton isn't based in Houston and it is the firm of record for MainPlace.

That said, I have my doubts about Hines' involvement with CityCentre. My guess is that some other developers and Hines are battling for the site.

Don't speak too soon... I'm certain I saw some equipment down on the site a few days ago, and a what looked to be a soil survey taking place.

Not much else though, I didn't have time to stop at the site.

I'm praying right now

It's an exciting time to be in Houston. Hopefully the Pavillions will spawn a genuine interest in downtown residential (since we'll have something to do). And let's face it... with all the cars that will be crowding downtown competing for space at the Toyata Center, Minute Maid AND HP, the days is surface parking are numbered.

Ha. They have to do something there. Hopefully a lot sooner then later. There is defiantly the demand for sure. I just wish something was announced already. Plus i think its long over due for something new to take its place along the skyline...

Wow. I was wondering about this place. I hope that it in fact is not dead. It's one of my fave proposals as of late.

^ My sentiments exactly. Houston deserves a fine tower such as this one.

I'm definitely jealous of City Centre and Main Place. I wouldn't mind either building be built in Downtown Los Angeles!

The company is even looking into the future beyond MainPlace.

Hines is locking up a second location on Main Street, between Texas and Capitol, where it's considering another office building.

"It's a great opportunity, whether it's this cycle or the next," said John Mooz, a vice president for the company.

Meanwhile, its current focus is on MainPlace, which will be the company's "most sustainable effort in the city."

I suppose they are talking about City Centre in this article. Do we have any more information on this project? It's been a while since any news broke and there has to be further development on this project. Any spies out there?

Considering the lot is still around (complete with Shamrock Tower sign) I'm not certain what the future of the site is at this point. I'm still glad they got rid of the trailer regardless...
