I'll like it, but how is this progressing (in terms of actually being built?)

It was suppose to go into a committee meeting by the end of this year but...
not all the info on the building has been received by the Council,
Commissions, and Boards. It's progressing slowly.

Probably a good thing, with the way housing has slowed so much. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see this thing start construction until 2008, and that just might be the right time.

I would really love to see this one or another one of similar proportions get built in the next couple of years.

Question for innov8 or Sugit:

Has the height of this tower been revised upwards again with this latest design??? I'm seeing at least 64 floors and depending on the top floors as many as 69 stories.....

965'-spire ; 771' - roof

innov8- any chance you can get those color renders up?

I may or may not by the end of this week. If not, look for
it in the April-May issue of Sactown Mag. I beleive it's
now 70 floors.

I'm glad you could find this thread ltsmotorsport, I could not
find it a couple weeks ago.

This thing will stick out so high in skyline! If the towers don't get built and this does, it will look like the Sacramento's skyline lawnmower missed a blade.

not that i'm complaining or nuthin' I agree 35 more feet! maybe in the next revision. This thing just keeps growing.

I agree. If the California Medical Assoc. was not in 50/50 on this tower with Mo,
this project would not even have a prayer. Paying for an EIR is not cheap.

That's not bad at all. It would be the second tallest in California if built before anything taller is built.

Yeah, I just kinda stumbled upon it while searching the old califorum sacramento thread and noticed that nothing had been done. Don't want this one to get purged.

Anytime your looking for a Sacramento related link just remember that you can go to page #1 of the Downtown Sacramento Construction thread in the City Compilations forum (It's the second post)...

Downtown Sacramento Construction
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=83685

But in any case, here are all of the major project links that I can think of.

301 Capitol Mall (The Towers)
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=85715

500 Capitol Mall
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=116260

601 Capitol Mall (Aura)
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=90073

621 Capitol Mall (U.S. Bank Builidng)
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=86268

CalSTRS HQ
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=116795

Epic Tower
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=110616

Capitol Grand Tower
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=107705

BTW love the height proposed at 965' with a spire and 771' naturally to the roof...
I also like the (latest) design....

Mike you may have a point about the California Medical
Assoications influence helping the project along... But
to what extent that help means is anybody's guess????

In any case i wont be holding my breath.. If by chance Mo Mohanna isn't jerking the chains of city planners (as I suspect) then
the Sacramento Old City Association and other Nimby groups will have a field day ripping the height of this proposal to shreds...
