Yeah, I actually like the name now. Power Fist Stadium would have been a very cool name, but whatever. It's cool.

It could have been easily worse. You could have named a Formula One Team with the worst ever team name to ever be conceived.

Great announcement and will sure be entertaining, but no word yet on the two most important signings Schoen and Oliveira. Those are the real difference makers.

Schoen rumoured to Ottawa with his buddy Dru Brown. Purely internet rumour I suspect.

From what I'd read, we would really only have the room to sign Streveler if we were not signing Oliveira (because of being outbid).

Strevlers making $120,000 this year. That can't be make or break for Oliveria?

I heard we likely only have room for either Oliveira or Schoen...that sucks, but I guess that is the business.

If it truly is either Oliveira or Schoen I would go with Oliveria every day.

He had a record season and from memory bested the top season for Harris. With some good years still ahead of him and running backs typically peaking later age wise he could be in for another record breaking season.

As specially as Schoen is receivers tend to be a lot easier to find. I think part of that is every team has many of them so there is a constant stream of next man up happening from the university/college programs.

Oliveira is bay far the better choice due to the fact he is Canadian and that is super helpful having a star player being Canadian for the ratio rules.

We'll see what that means for Schoen and free agency.

Houston signed a 2 year deal with Calgary however. $275K over the 2 years.

Last year, Bombers profit $5.7 million. Valour lose $1.25 million.

Great news for the Bombers. Not so much for the Valour. I think the Valour lost 900,000 or 1 million the previous year. Despite attendance increasing by a hundred or a couple hundred per game from 2022, the team lost around $300,000 more or so which means there were more discounted tickets or giveaways.

The Valour losing money could be a bit of a shell game. Reality is the team is owned by the Bombers who effectively own the stadium and the Valour use the facility on what would otherwise be non-event nights. If the Valour is say having to pay $$$ every time they have a game it creates a loss on paper for the team but ultimately that rolls into BBB Inc which offsets that loss with revenue from overall stadium operations (aka mostly the Bombers). Now if they are in fact paying $0 to use the stadium for home games and still running at a loss that is a lot more worrying.

I don't know what exactly the set-up is. But surely that $1.25 million is coming directly from the Bombers. As they're both owned by the same entity.
