^ Yeah I know that one... just wondering if it changed.

Either way, it will be nice to have a highrise there, will really fill out the skyline and make Canal St feel more built up. Now we just need the Canal Place Phase 3.

I've very curious to see what's being planned for 1317 Canal St. With 1535 Canal and Bienville Basin mostly completed, there's a lot of potential for a high-rise to fill in upper Canal. Agreed about Canal Place phase 3, hopefully the Four Seasons and Harrah's hotels will spur some action there. I recall having seen the original plans from the 80s for phase 3 posted somewhere but can't find them - anyone have access to that? I recall it being something like 40-50 floors.

^ The original plans don't really matter, unless the foundations are already in. Some developer will come along and build whatever makes sense now.

I'm glad they didn't build it all at once, the original buildings are okay but definitely not world-class... Phase 3 is a great opportunity to do something special.

For sure, I'm mostly just curious what kind of scale they thought was feasible at the time and whether they intended parking or retail spaces to be connected/shared with the hotel and mall.

This was an unbuilt proposal from Cesar Pelli on Poydras.

BTW will try to take pictures later if I get by there but the dangling crane that was hanging from Hard Rock Site over Canal is now gone. Already a huge improvement to not see that anymore. once the debris is taken off the rampart side of the building its really just going to look like a normal construction site until removed.
