it's cliche, but NY deserves better. it's out of place in NY. i think i would appreciate it much more in miami.

Yea. It's a good thing it's not that tall to stand out too much.

For a city that already has everything...gotta have a few of these.

I think if it were located more in the heart of Times Square, the guady nature of the building would blend in better.

Think of it this way; would you guys like Ernst&Young if it were more standing alone, rather than worked into the fabric of Times Square?

Location isn't on the Westin's side for its look.

That building is by far the most hideous piece of shite in all of Manhattan.

@ Sandy : your photos are excellent... I'm jealous.
Appenrently, I was in NY two weeks after you. It seems like you enjoyed a better weather than I did.

... and, to get back to topic : the base of Westin Times Square is not its best part, but I don't dislike the impact of the tower on the skyline. It adds variety.

I was there from April 17th to 25th and yes the weather was good, I had only 2 foggy mornings but no rain, blue sky everyday!
Maybe these pics are nice but I AM jealous too because of your BofA and Verizon pics... which are excellent

Regarding the Westin, I'm not really fan of it, due to colors of the cladding which IMO, looks like pool tile or kitchen tile, but I think it has its place in this part of the city, among the very colored neon lights of Times square, elsewhere in Manhattan would have been worse, probably the place gave its design.

Notice that Arquitectonica hasn't had a major commission in New York City in over a decade since. The market has spoken.
