I love the depth in that fascade. Infinitely more interesting than the typical wall of glass. And when looking at this building, one actually sees a building, not just wavy reflections of other wavily reflecting buildings.
One of the better critiques of this building I've read in this forum. Well said. The textural sense that this tower's curtain wall conveys is truly impressive, mesmerizing to a degree.
10/28/2016 - In a few years this view will probably be mostly blocked by development. The T streetcar line goes within 2 blocks of this area. The rusty shipping container below the patio has been converted into a toilet.

You're right. 6th Street does not look as good as the epicenter of SF's building boom. Maybe there's some dodgy characters and few rundown buildings/businesses but I routinely traversed The Tenderloin and lived in Hayes Valley in the 1980's so it feels safe enough to me.
