The pic in post #7257, like something out of the architectural matrix. Very trippy tower, designed by trippy minds for trippy people to enjoy. Studio Gang Architects really overdid themselves.

That blow through floor is aging very well. I'd almost be sad if it was never included, seeing what I've been seeing. But thats the thing with architecture, certain things, add so much, and might not be apparent right away, until you become comfortable, might I say complacent with the design. Take away the blow through floor, and a piece of Vista is missing, emotionally and visually. Kinda gives a touch of emphasis for the roof, which is a visual weak point in this tower, IMO, but it draws the eye and mind towards the top, which is good. Adds some variety.

Yesterday from Navy Pier. Really wish the skip was down. At this rate, it'll be next summer before proper daytime exteriors can be made. Oh well. Fun to scout. More to come.

Apparently there may have been a base jumper last night?

holy moly! sweet pics harry, i had no idea the "underneath area"? of that overhang was going to end up so darn big. I imagine it will be similar to aqua's in terms of style. what is that area called?

Saw that base jump stuff.. seems like he pulled it off safely... idk much about base jumping but that seems risky and selfish. I read that he posted his video on tiktok.. I will enjoy that first person view if it ever surfaces

A couple more from Thursday evening/Friday afternoon. I was planning to go to the Navy Pier parking deck to get some shots of Vista, but I sort of accidentally stumbled upon Navy Pier's updated Polk Bros Park with its wildflowers and natural prairie grasses on Thursday evening. The location/angle was so fresh, I went back to check the AM light, too.

July 4th Pics

Haven't seen much movement on the skip coming down. Is this thing still targeting a 2020 opening?

As of two weeks ago, a little birdie told me it was supposed to be down by July 18th - weather permitting. There were definitely some windy days the last couple weeks that may have slowed progress, but it certainly looks like it hasn't moved in at least a week.

^^The north facade is so awesome, especially with the newly-completed bump-out. Just gorgeous.

As for the south facade and blow-thru; I am getting used to it. It actually compliments Trump Tower's mechanical levels quite well, as seen in SIGSEGV's last photo. If they would replace the last setback louvers with glass blades or a blue-colored metal, I'd rate the building a 9.4/10.

Sort of similar to Aqua. The idea is that there will be a swooping, mirrored canopy that pulls light into the undercroft area so it feels more inviting and lures pedestrians to the Riverwalk. Looks good in renderings but I imagine there's a risk it could turn out kinda chintzy and 80s-looking.

They're probably intending for it to be something like this:
