October 31, 2011—San Antonio, TX— Interjet, a Mexican based carrier, recently announced it will begin round-trip service between San Antonio (SAT) and Mexico City (MEX), Mexico starting on December 1, 2011. This is Interjet’s first time serving a market in the United States, as it begins to grow its services in the United States.
Interjet is offering an introductory rate of $250, which can be used for travel from December 1 to December 14, 2011. The new non-stop service to and from SAT and MEX will operate twice daily except weekends. Tickets are currently on sale at

Interjet allows each passenger a maximum baggage weight of 110 lbs at no charge. Excess baggage weight will be subject to a $5 US charge per 2.2 lbs.

This announcement marks the entrance of a second international carrier to begin service to Mexico from San Antonio. VivaAerobus recently announced service between San Antonio and Monterrey, Mexico beginning November 8, 2011.
