The Rock Steakhouse Bar and Grill is getting closer to opening. It’s located at the airport, next door to Holiday Inn Express. It’s entrance is actually same entrance as the hotel on Navigator Avenue as the restaurant building is owned by the same owners as the hotel. I heard that the opening I might be somewhere around the end of October. In the meantime, they have posted their menu on their website. Here is the link.

Hearing the Chapters Starbucks location has a "temporarily closed" sign on the door. Someone one twitter has claimed the employees were reassigned/laid off and the location is closed permanently. Has anyone here heard anything?

Yes I knew that Starbucks was closing a bunch of locations and wouldn't be surprised to see the Chapters location close. Just wondering if anyone heard anything more concrete than twitter rumors.
Someone asked about the Burger House. My husband and I went a few weeks ago. I had the smaller burger and my husband had a regular sized one. Burgers were really good, fries just ok. They were really slow the night we were there - waited almost an hour for our food.
Another victim of the pandemic on Nov 3 was Mill Street on Harbour drive. It has announced its closing too after the Bier Markt pub shut down back in July. Sad times.
Drove by Second Cup on Stavanger Drive tonight and noticed people inside. Everything was set up, shelves were stocked and it looked like staff training. Looks like it is opening up again.
Five Guys has been announced for the Avalon Mall. It will be located near the new entrance facing the Polina Road intersection and will also have an outside entrance of their own which will allow for outside sitting in the summer months

I just logged on to say I heard they were coming to the mall. Glad it’s not just a rumour!

Can anyone confirm if Zapatas on Bates Hill has permanently closed?
As I understand the owner passed earlier this year.
I am guessing there was no one to taker over.
Their web page www.zapatas.ca had gone 404 and no recent updates on their face book.

Awful news. Only there once or twice but absolutely loved it. I also used to pick up their food at Belbins. For the last year I kept thinking I need to go there and never did.
Very disappointed by this one. My wife and I had our first date there 8 years ago! I will miss our afternoons there! ☹️
I asked about Starbucks when I was at Chapters the other day and was told that they won't be reopening before January...I think it has to do with the number of people who get a drink and then walk around Chapters with it...they don't want people doing that right now.
