Will this Oliver McMillan building be where the Hifi Buys was?

Excellent. I don't think any tears will be shed for that architectural treasure.

Just remembered I once bought a pair of Adcom power amps from them, back in the day when we used large plastic disks to listen to music. They revolved on an apparatus known as a turntable and made sound from tiny grooves cut into their surface.

i'm the proud owner of some vintage 80s adcom gear and an assortment of albums myself, lol. i haven't been recently but it's nice having fantasyland within easy walking distance. i hope that place manages to stay around...

725 Ponce Rendering Updated

Atlanta Magazine has a little feature about Jim Irwin and 725 Ponce. The BeltLine will be re-routed over the other bridge (to avoid bike collisions) and make way for future transit on the current bridge the BeltLine crosses over North.

That looks a lot more sophisticated than I thought at ground level...love the balcony for people to view the skyline and surrounding area at.

Is it possible that 811 Peachtree just landed a tenant? I would bet that the builders see the retail component as critical and would wait to sign a tenant so they could build to suit...

Random

I was flying a Delta regional jet from Las Vegas to San Diego last week and noticed in the Sky magazine (or whatever it was called) an advertisement for Opus 2. They really are going all out on this thing.

I get the NY Times every day...they've also been advertising heavily in that, especially the weekly Sunday magazine.

Well, Mercedes Benz Stadium opening was pushed back again. Looks like it won't be until at least the end of August, if not later:

We have recently received an updated timeline from our construction partners regarding Mercedes-Benz Stadium that will affect several upcoming Atlanta United matches. Today, we are announcing the following three changes to our upcoming home schedule:
The July 30th match vs. Orlando City SC, scheduled to be at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, will now be played at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Saturday, July 29th at 5 p.m., and will be a live national broadcast carried by FOX. The August 13th match vs. Minnesota United, as well as the August 19th match vs. LA Galaxy, will be rescheduled to later dates at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Those dates are TBD and will be announced in the coming weeks.

With that being said, on the other hand, Sun Trust Park has been a success so far...and the traffic nightmare some were suggesting, has been nonexistent. Kudos for Atlanta.

The retail has always been in the design, but the older images were less detailed.

WOW that's impressive street frontage on Coda. Very "big city" and imposing.

It's not really a good thing if Midtown becomes "built-out." This would signal a major stall in our economy and progress as a city. Dynamic cities should never seek to be "built-out" - that would mean stagnation; constant change and redevelopment should be the goal.
