Damn you, Carlos. You beat me to the punch with the "mixed emotions" joke. Oh well, you snooze, you lose, I guess. Based on the width of those panels, it does appear to be two facade panels on the left. Though I would wait for more to go up before passing judgment.

Ghastly is an acceptable description of this design.

Agreed, this may be one of the few times I miss a parking garage. It would be slightly more tolerable if they had at least respected the street wall.

Actually, if that white thing is protective covering for the window, and the window itself will be black-ish, I might not mind this tower. Still curious about how they will deal with the sides...

Latest update:

CitizenM Hotel Nearing Completion

They are now working on the sign for the top. What an ugly little tumor.

I always thought that signage was just a placeholder for future ads? It is in Times Square after all.

I went for a walk on Tuesday, caught a quick shot of this nonsense on 50th.

The windows are cool, but I seriously feel like they still need to put in frames between the glass panels...like it's as if they affixed all the windows but not the facade in between. This one is a "wait-and-see"

I suppose those small buildings with the subway and duane & reade on the corner will be gone someday. That looks like a prime spot for major development.

Not that bad. The glass appears to be different shades...
