Those are nice looking towers. In any other city they would be stars, but in Shanghai they get lost among the supertalls.

Here are some earlier shots of the project. We talked our way on to the site (with the help and Guangxi of a Chinese friend) one morning after a late night a drinking.

I can't believe that Shanghai is building an unimaginative, US-style tower.

In a city that adds 10s of millions of square feet of office space every year, you expect every tower to be a star? If the fact that it's a glass box makes it 'unimaginative', then you either aren't looking hard enough or have a pre-disposition that blinds you to buildings that aren't cake decorated with some knockoff historical style.

tottaly agree very hard to have all the skyscrapers in such a massive city unique in design. Actually this design will make it stand out abit in shanhai i think

Photos taken by me over several months. (this is my first photo post on the site btw)

In my opinion, the interesting thing about KCP2 is the way that of the 3 major structures on the site, each is built with a somewhat different construction method. The main office tower is classic steel beam construction. The one to the north is built with concrete slipform methods. And there is another one which is built using a lot of steel trusses. Why they decided to do it this way is beyond me.

Making good progress on the cladding

Can see a lot of the, maybe, a retail concourse?

Good showing relative size of other structures, after Wheelock Tower, this will be the most prominent structure in the Jingan district.

This project will really redefine the Jing An District. Kerry Properties is not joking around with this development. I can't get in to details about everything that will be included (contractual agreement and all that), but mark my words, it's a game changer.

updates from 2011

I take pictures of this tower whenever I am in the neighborhood, but I don't have time to update often. So, here is a series of pics from 2011, up to early 2012. At the moment the towers are almost fully cladded and they are primarily working on ground level stuff.
