^No doubt! A bunch of huge rebar cages have been delivered, so they are certainly ready to keep moving up.

And it's already made its way into the hole. Looks like they are forming up the core. They are really making up for lost time now.

Pouring it all took more than 18 hours on a cloudy San Francisco Sunday. An armada of trucks delivered nearly 49 million pounds of concrete and brontosaurine pumps vomited it into the hole while a small army of rubber-booted workers scurried about, directing the flow. It was one of the biggest, longest concrete pours in history...

Yes! It's tremendously exciting to see this thread finally start jumping, especially for those of us who have been on the Forum for years. Wow, lots of excitement down in the hole lately!

...And it looks like in about a year or so, we will see Salesforce Tower reach the top! We should also see 181 Fremont topped out as well. Along with Oceanwide Center soon to follow, San Francisco's famous Pyramid / 555 California dominated skyline of 45 years will finally be noticeably changed. Many of those SF skyline related items in the souvenir shops may need some updating. The Beach Blanket Babylon SF Hat may get heavier.

"Nearly 300 feet higher than the City's tallest..., " doesn't correlate with the current 217 feet taller 1070 feet actually is over the Transamerica Pyramid. I wouldn't take this too seriously yet though.

Are you suggesting a height increase to overtake Wilshire Grand?

By the way, Seattle is considering a 1,111 foot tower at 701 Fourth Avenue; 11 feet taller than Wilshire Grand.

Yes, but I imagine that it will take a bit of time to assemble the self rising core system.

This one looks like a legit 1,111 feet. No 100- or 200-foot crowns or spires.

edwards: Nice shot, thanks for posting that. You can only see about half the core on the construction cam so it's good to see a different angle.

rocketman: won't they pour the bottom level first, then attach and assemble the system to that? It's been looking to me like they are getting close to having the rebar and framing in place, so I've been hoping to see it poured soon.

Reason why I said in earlier posts on this forum that fighting and arguing about saleforce not being "the Tallest on the west" at a mere 1070ft and how other cities are adding needles and blah blah blah to claim that victory doesn't really matter. In the age where cities are urbanizing and revitalizing their downtowns here in the US, many cities are going tall, anything less than 1200ft will not last long as "tallest" in any region of this country anymore.

Be happy SF is getting a truly beautiful tower, now fight city hall and the dying out nimbys and demand your next tower to be even taller ! Because rumor has It, there may be another supertall heading for LA already. One of its dreaded Central Downtown parking lots is seeing some action right now....permits are moving through city hall and the site has heavy machinery onsite and soil testing going on as we speak. with the specific area zoned for a height Minimum of about 800ft, its almost a guarantee they might go supertall.

You might be right on that, I'm not sure... either way they are going to have to spend a bit of time getting the core climbing system built at some point. It will really start moving once that is installed, so i'm hoping sooner rather than later.

The second tower crane will also help, I was hoping it would be installed last weekend. Maybe this is the week?
