Cork, Ireland: The Elysian, 19 stories (tallest in Eire) | CONSTRUCTION

Tallest building in Ireland (not very impressive by international standards I know) going up right now and I have an excellent view of it from my window
Officially it has 17 stories but the core has actually risen to 18 stories including the ground floor and will also have a penthouse on top.

Here's the website:
www.theelysian.ie

And some renders:

And a pic taken by me showing that the core has reached its full height:

It's a nice tower. Are there other buildings going up?

There are a number of tallish buildings going up around the bigger towns and cities in Ireland but planning permission in this country is so long and drawn out that most never make it past the drawing board, not to mention restrictions on height, shadow etc which has held back many projects in the past.

But it is good to see stuff like the tower in Cork, Heuston Gate in Dublin, Athlone Town Centre and Clarion in Limerick bucking this trend finally

Nice. It's really nice to see some stuff outside the usual suspects around here.

love the design, it would be nice to see this city with a few more 15 storey buildings, just to complement the height, like Manchester in NH.
