so he admitted to a universally understood fact? what does that prove, that he isn't a retard?

besides, villaraigosa isn't gonna get blamed for a national downturn. however, people sure as hell will be critical of him for the downtown development that he has pushed so hard for.

Well the only arguement that critics can use to justify reasons to oppose that development is Traffic. But that's where the Downtown Connector comes into play.

Nice work Ryan!

After Waldorf=Astoria, Arquetectonica is the one that most needs to be built, it looks great in the skyline from every angle.

Cool, but there needs to be more very tall high-rise development around the Sears Tower.

imo, sears tower looks great because it stands alone, instead of being lost in a crowd within a cluster of highrises. i think it looks awful when a skyline looks homogeneous.

I'd ask someone to do Houston, but it's only going to change from the east side in that time. Main Place will have the single greatest impact to downtown, and will be an AWESOME addition.

A few people have already sketched Austin, which will see the most dramatic changes in Texas.

As far as I'm concerned, if all these get built Sears will look nearly as lonely as OMP does now. Actually, equally so if the rest of the Central Station development gets built. Now that render is missing Legacy, but still. Just as OMP needs Park Michigan or something like it to tie it to the rest of the skyline, Sears is gonna need one or two 700- buildings to tie it to the Illinois Center and the stuff on the river.

That's the first thing I noticed too!

Park Michigan (on the left - foreground) and Waldorf-Astoria (also on the left).

I'm pretty sure it's already been mentioned that those were used as stand-ins for a rumoured proposal. It's unlikely they'll get built anyway, but the other buildings for the most part are u/c, approved, or quite stable proposals, so don't doubt the whole image.

Hey Ryan81,
Is it possible for you to add the Elysian and the Care?
It seem that they would look good in your western view!

Thanks!

Denver:

Before (~2006):

After (~2011):

Added (from left to right): 1800 Larimer, Two Tabor, Four Seasons, and the Spire
Notable omission (will add at a later time): 1900 16th

Last edited by The Dirt; May 31, 2008 at 6:18 AM. Reason: 1401 Lawrence was cancelled, so I removed it.

Not bad, Dirt. Now, just add Two Tabor and 1900 16th. I wish we had better Denver aerials to access. Anyone have a plane?

I know you'll come up with a great finished project once you get a 3-D modeling kit.

No problem Vidgms! Just out of curiosity, why were you looking for a future London and Denver rendering?

Btw, I just added Two Tabor. Hit refresh on your browser to see the updated pic in my previous post.

I was looking for Los Angeles and Denver.

I used to live in Denver...I live in LA now.

Again, the skyline looks great, especially with Tabor in place also!

-1800 Larimer could start construction by the end of May...
-Two Tabor has ordered steel (from what I hear) and should start construction in June/July...
-1401 Lawrence is in pre-sales and units are selling well, construction starts before December...
-Four Seasons is currently under-construction...
-the Spire is currently under-construction...
