It's a seemingly small thing, but that window glass really helps.

And for such a nice building, the Frost garage is hideously ugly. But at least there are a lot of trees in the area, including the ones along the creek, which should grow nicely.
Weston would just build a tower on top of the garage . But I will say that the garage is always packed and I dont see in any circumstance them taking the garage as is and building another tower on top of it. They would need to building at least three more floors of that parking garage to accomodate for another tower.

Nice shot Raul!

Are they working on the final residential floor before the mechanical stuff right now or is it already topped out? Hard to tell.

I saw some social media posts a few days ago where they had a topping-out ceremony so that should be the last residential floor they’re working on right now - There is a roofline above that floor that adds at least a few more feet (I think it’s 375’ for the roof height)
The mechanical crown/box they add after that should about line up with the top of the Frost I think

The more views we can hide that horrendous old Adams Mark hotel and the little motor bank building from the better. Great shot!

So on the north side of the building. They have the floors numbered on the plywood. It showed 31. So that social media post about topping out I'm not so sure. Also don't they put a tree on the top as part of the ceremony?

If you look at the webcam you can see that they are working on the floor above the one in Raul's photos.

I'm pretty sure it is the highest occupied floor. Then above that will be the crown and the mechanical room on top.

From that, they have one more floor to build, then the mech house, until a full top-out.

Yes, I believe they are currently working on that top occupied floor. The crown will be above that, then the mech room on top. There are different renders showing different versions of the crown, so no idea how tall it will be, but otherwise they're basically the same.

Topped out traditionally just means that all of the structural framework has been completed. That usually applies to whatever the framework material was, either concrete or steel (concrete in this case), and can also include the mechanical penthouse. It can also be noted before the structural framework for say, a steel crown above the concrete main roof. I remember when the Frost Bank Tower was built in Austin they celebrated its topping out with a tree on top, and that was before any of the steel beams had been added to the roof for the crown that would later be covered with glass.

A really great local drone photographer I follow posted some great shots of 300 Main from this morning (off topic but you can also see how the Floodgate still appears to have no progress on that white façade )

Except for the crown, maybe it's actually topped out now?
