After last week's quadruple murder suicide in Richmond, finally a relatively quiet start to the month on the coast.

Good grief. Winnipeg is likely to be up to 5 homicides already. Currenty investigation on latest is being treated as a homicide for now.

Montreal is now at 3.

There was one at the very start of the year, then it was quiet for almost a month.

And then two in the past week:

A teenager killed in a knife fight in Pointe-Claire.

An older man shot in what looks like a mafia hit in LaSalle.

Identity of victims in a really old Stanley Park cold case resolved.

Speaking of Stanley Park homicides,

sentencing of the killer in another random homicide resulted in life sentence yesterday.

We're at 7 already?

That's like a murder a week so far this year.

Haven’t heard anything further on that second one here in Airdrie. Just that major crimes has handed the investigation off to the general investigation unit, for what it’s worth.

tough last month in BC for homicides,
other than the random senior citizen stabbed to death in Nanaimo coffee shop,
I think the most heart breaking was the random death of a security guard at UBC Okanagan, she just got her perm residency a couple months ago.

^Just tragic.

BC seems to be a bit crazy these days. The steady increase of random attacks is definitely concerning.

That guy sounds like quite a piece of work. Given his history, he was probably lucky to live as long as he did.
