It can't be that neither was the issue since they are diametrically opposed in their approach. Dubas is building the team one way and Babock was pulling it in the opposite direction. Management from Shanahan down is obviously committed to the strategy employed so far, and it's easier to switch out a coach than it is to rebuild a team to fit Babcock's early 2000's approach.
Time will tell if it's the right move, but I'm actually excited to watch what someone with an open mind can do with the existing personnel.
