This one was finally just approved after a trip to the OMB and an eventual deal with the city. Back with entirely new look (cantilever is neat but the rest got messier).

Key to the approval was heritage retention of the north, south, and west exterior walls of the six storey Traders Building (in the first itineration just the west facade was proposed to be retained).

Office, a mix of market and affordable rentals ( 617 units), retail and public space.

I'm just reposting my comment from UT on here for everyone to read. I just thought this would make an interesting update on this thread.

We are now at 120 total 150 metres + skyscrapers built and u/c in Toronto. 82 built and 38 u/c. We're 17 behind Chicago now, which has a total of 137 150 metres + skyscrapers built and u/c. Plus 6 proposals for a total of 143. As well ... Toronto has now reached a new benchmark of having a total of 300 total skyscrapers built/u/c/proposed! We have a total of 180 proposals. Many of which are already approved. We also have 1 skyscraper on hold. So that makes a total of 301! I'm assuming that outside of New York; this is the most any North American city has ever had for total built/u/c/proposed. New York has a total of 295 skyscrapers built, with 17 u/c and 10 proposed for 322 skyscrapers.

Obviously, New York's total is mainly made up of built skyscrapers, and Toronto has a whopping 180 towers proposed. I mention NY's total because a couple of years ago, there were stories on North American news sites about how Toronto had just a few more total built/u/c/proposed towers than Chicago and would pass them at some point. We now have over 2 times as many total tower projects in the works as Chicago, including our 180 proposed towers. While Chicago has just 6 proposed 150 metres + towers in the works.

I think it's fun because Toronto will likely pass New York for total projects before too long, including proposals. Of course, a ton of them will be for proposals both approved and waiting for approval. So it's much different than when we were passing Chicago's total, including proposals in 2020. But I still think it's fun to dream and just point that fact out.

55 Charles is turning out to be a huge waste of decent quality materials on a clunker of a design. Another clone of X Condos would have been far preferable.

Wonder on Eastern is a tragic value-engineered barnacle on an otherwise quality heritage building.

Shaping up and some nice curtainwall appearing. Office and retail on Adelaide Street East, between Sherbourne and Parliament.

Only 23 storeys, but this far east of the high-rise core, might turn out to be a minor landmark. So many good to great designs for the city from Sweeny&Co Architects <missing spaces is how they spell it.

A member of the Forma sales team leaked news to an UrbanToronto forum member that the first (east) tower was nearly sold out* earlier this month.

Construction could start in the first or second quarter of next year, at which time sales for the super-tall will be launched by co-developers Westdale Properties, Great Gulf Group and Dream Unlimited. Promising news indeed.

The well-known construction giant Ellis Don from London, Ontario has taken over as sole developer of this big project (their first). Ellis Don has previously worked in a joint-venture role as co-developer, but this one is all theirs.

Almost a million square feet with 1150 residential units. Located south-east on Kipling and Bloor. Condo, institutional and office. 35, 32, 22 and 10 storey mixed-use buildings.
