Hey no sweat!

New regs just apply to new units, just like cars or bikes.

Two cycle engines can be made green but not with a retrofit, a complete redesign is necessary. An example is the BRP ETEC engine used in Evinrude outboards and Skidoo snowmobiles.

Well for some reason they want to buy two more.

Any chance the GWWDRW is acting on my suggestion to set up LRT service on their ROW?

That is about as far fetched a scenario as one can imagine... possibly on the scale of waking up one morning and seeing the sun rise to the north.

GWWD would like to keep as low profile as possible to protect the Branch 1 Aqueduct ROW which runs along side the line.

I noticed that they even cut off interconnection with CP Rail which they have had for decades. They now only interconnect with CN rail which they have also done for decades.

Ah, so you're saying that the line is already connected to the CN highline which runs through Union Station, the future hub of Winnipeg Rapid Transit. Excellent!

Technically every piece of rail is connected to the highline. GWWD wouldn't make much sense, as it runs directly out of town to the east through mostly empty land.

GWWD needs to be ripped up and moved out to the water treatment plant. Or just abandoned altogether, especially since freedom road appears to be coming a reality.

Sort of I guess, GWWD connects to CN off of a lead from the Sprague subdivision (aka the low line) that comes off of Mairion St next to the Maple Leaf Meat Plant. And looking at that lead on Google Maps it points into the Symington rail yard not downtown.

Even with Freedom road there is no access planned to the water treatment intake site. Rail access is still required for access as I believe that Winnipeg Water still would need to access the remaining right of way between Waugh Bay (intake site) and Deacon.

It is still needed to bring to bring construction materials for maintainence to the intake and along the aquaduct. And why move to the treatment plant? All of their maintainence shops are established where they are.

You guys and your common sense haha. Might be too late now. But the huge floodway bridge is one reason. Rinky dink track crossing Lag, if it were ever to be upgraded to some form of real expressway, are 2 of my reasons.

The handful of extremely short trains that cross Lagimodiere each month on the GWWD line is the least of anyone's concerns when it comes to Lagimodiere's many deficiencies.

Has anyone ever seen the Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker?

It's coming to the Burt this year, and it might be interesting.

I'm also going to watch the RWB perform Dracula on the 26th. I'm hoping it's good.

Nuit Blanche.

It was incredible this year, the nice weather obviously helped. Never seen so many people on the streets in Exchange, especially that late at night. Jazz/Fringe don't even hold a candle to how busy it was. It was amazing to see. Also great that you can just walk around with drinks, cops don't do anything about it, and nothing bad happened. Makes you think...
