it shows in the map it will be between S Rim Dr. and Leon Creek? Not quite sure where thats at.

wouldn't NE be the Rim and not La Cantera?
my guess is that it is the land immediately to the right as you exit, before the Mimis cafe and Jareds.

what if sa had 10 more large corps, houston and dallas were smaller than sa and usaa never built out-just up? view from 410 looking towards 10 and callaghan.

great job on the look of the area!! could almost be real. if we ever stop building out ($10 gas may not be such a bad thing) we may actually see something like this someday...

(sort of reminds me of NC Expway in Dallas...)

Highrises along freeways make for nice skylines, but they're still no pedestrian oasis. They're really no better than lowrise development in the suburbs. Highrises can be suburban in character too. It's not so much their height and even design that make them urban, it's how they meet and interact with the street that does. Check out some of the Chinese construction threads sometime. There are hundreds, even thousands of residential highrises there, but some are just gated communities in the sky. There might be thousands of people living there, but you might never see a single person outside of a car.

Nice! Which one is supposed to be USAA? I always imagined their "alternate universe tower" to be a 1,200 ft skyscraper downtown, sort of like the Sears Tower, only brown (since its in SA

)

Well that makes sense. I was wondering if these were the same hotels that were planned for The Rim.

It does look like the NC Expressway in Dallas, but that area is a mess as well. I would still want more to happen downtown, it doesn't matter where things are.

If Tesoro didn't want to be downtown, they should have built there new facility where central park mall used to be. Instead we have another shopping center taking up good space where a skyscraper could have gone. In fact they tore down two twin buildings just for that shopping center. Imagine Tesoro right on Loop 410 and San Pedro. There clients would have better convience since the airport is about 5 minutes from there.

i think we would all be surprised where the majority of their employees live. at nustar, i am almost shocked to hear of someone who lives inside 1604, much less 410. these energy jobs do pay and that money has been fleeing northward for awhile. i think they are going to be much closer to a majority of their employees. it isn't such a service-oriented place that needs to be accessible to clients, etc...
