I am jealous of your camera Wattleigh

What kind of camera do you use to get the amazing clarity in your photos?

Wow. That's jumping it up in height a good bit too. Looks awesome.

Hess Tower would be the one directly behind the convention center...

I think you mean directly in front of the convention center.

Technically speaking, you are correct.

The framework for the crown is moving faster that I could've imagined.

Compare Wednesday (11/18)

To Monday (11/23)

Tube steel and aluminum framing can be put together rather quickly due to its low weight, as compared to structural steel.

...but that is some quick progress.

In this pic Hess looks taller than OPP. Idk if it is an optical illusion but OPP is listed as 501' and Hess is 490'

^It does look taller. Although, it's closer to the camera there and maybe because of the angle.

The framing up there is definitely tall though. Look how tall it is compared to the workers. It's gotta be 30 to 40 feet tall.

I think that 490' number is soft. If I remember correctly, that was the height before Hess rented out the whole building. Hess had some of the lower floors raised in height for training purposes. There are some other photos taken from angles where Hess Tower is further away than OPP, and it still looks taller. Either way, they're relatively the same height.

I was going to mention that, but i thought that was just me...

This was posted by Jax on HAIF, a while ago, but it appears that Hess Tower is the same height, or maybe a feet or 2 shorter than those mini-spires on top of One Park Place.
But keep in mind, from this angle the camera is closer to OPP, so maybe Hess Tower is the same height or *gasp* taller than its discovery green neighbor.
I, too, think Hess Tower will be more than 490 ft. Hess Tower doesnt seem to have the supposed 11 feet height hap between HT and OPP.

Ok, Wattleigh has this posted on the first post of this thread. He says this rendering was found on their website in June of 2008. It sure looks shorter than One Park Place here. I wonder if they did raise the height a bit for Hess. Wattleigh, were you the one that found the height for Hess Tower? If so, you should check back again with your source and see if they've adjusted the height. Height changes happen all the time before construction starts, and I've even heard that the published height is usually not exact, since concrete cures differently in different climates.

This one also makes it seem really short, maybe only 450 feet.

If you do ask for a new height, make sure to ask for the main roof height, plus the height to the top of the turbine housing. It's always best to have two heights from a trusted source to refute any other questionable heights.

I believe the original design had a height of 450'.
