New store going in next to Stile on Main Street - My Home Apparel.

There will soon be a nice little cluster of boutique retail on the mid portion of Main. This has been building over the last several years - good to see.
I really hope this trend continues!

I know. I really love walking downtown, and seeing new businesses pop up, and it's not bars, or pub/restaurants. It seems are downtown it coming back after so many years of seemingly going downhill.

Has anyone heard of how the Crowne Plaza's $6 Million renovations are going, or if they've even started?

Yet another Moncton car dealership is undergoing a major expansion.

Moncton Honda on West Main Street plans to triple the size of their current building with a 25,000 sq ft expansion, and also expand their car lot onto adjacent land to the west.

Shortly after the T&T had a story on this I was lucky enough to get a quick peek at the work going on and they were on the upper floors, going gang-busters ripping up the rooms.
They even built two test rooms, to see in real-life which prototype of room would better serve their guests. It was pretty cool.
That was at least a year ago and I haven't heard squat since though.

The cost of the new Codiac RCMP HQ has shot up to $46M.

Construction has now been delayed to 2020.

Now wouldn’t the cost have gone up based on the fact they moved the start dates. Seems like they are basically just taking into consideration the cost inflation that could happen by waiting a year.

The cbc article stated that the new headquarters will "open in 2020". So could construction possible begin in the next 12 months (assuming it will take a few years to build) or is this just a typical CBC error and construction indeed will not start until 2020?

I see that now. What I had noted before was that the item had been shifted to the 2020 budget from the 2019 budget, so I'm not sure if this is a reporting error or not........

The Caledonia Fire Stn was pushed back 5 budgets at least before the situation at the McLaughlin Dr one was too expensive to keep running, plus factoring in the close proximity of McLaughlin Dr and Botsford Stns.
I suspect the same will keep happening here with the RCMP building, especially with other big expenditures still looming over the books.

More renders of the proposed hotel on Main street. I don't think these have been posted before. This latest version is 11 stories. Almost looks like a Double Tree logo on top.

If so, then maybe this is a serious proposal by Valmond. Maybe he does have a partner lined up.........

Would be a lot nicer if it wasn't set back from the street.

It is a Double Tree logo, you just have to zoom in on the photo and you can see the words double and tree

The frequent subtle changes in design and reduction in height could also suggest that there are actual negotiations with a serious partner.

I really hope the city addresses this. They could simply move the building forward and have the drop-off and a few surface parking spaces in between the parking structure and the main building.

Or the drop-off could be along the street, like in every other city.
