I have tasted worse than Minhas. I am sure there are worse bottled brews in the Niagara region. The outaouais has a lot of stinky garbage too. Proof Sheet made his british-self a human guinea pig and sampled all local brews. He is a local connoisseur.

Have to give Minhas credit. Even though their beer is not the best, being the supplier for Kirkland Signature beer at Costco and for several of Trader Joe's private label beers is quite the accomplishment.

I thought this was a joke, cannot possibly be real.

But yes.. what the...

I guess if Galen Weston can create President's Choice Clenched-Asshole ale, so can Costco.

Black Label is even cheaper. Saw a hot 12 pack with dust on it at the local Maxi for 15 bucks.

What are your thoughts on the social credit ratings? Corporate Equality index rating's are a example of the Blackrock and Vanguard monopoly in corporate investment. If you do not get the positive rating you are blacklisted. That is why these corporations do these stupid marketing campaigns!

I feel sorry for you. Your self esteem is vicariously acquired. I don't imagine you have any liberal friends.
Listen I understand your problem! Your self esteem explains alot! You are a slow minded liberal with a low self esteem! It does not matter where you live! Your mind will destroy any thoughts of reality!

I'm old enough to recall Dave Nichol's beer commercials

You know, I've been intrigued by those President's choice beers, but they are at such a low price they must not be good.

I mean, if I went to a summer bbq and the host offered me one.. sure. But it better be so cold I can't taste the badness.

Dave's beers at least try to look like the fancy brands he's trying to rip off. The new President's Choice offerings look Dollarama-esque.

I bought a case of No Name beer at Superstore in Alberta a couple of summers ago and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was more than OK.

I used to buy both PC and Dave's beers as there were significant savings compared to the bigger brands at that time. That is no longer the case with PC and Dave's only existed up to sometime in the mid 2000s I think.

I did enjoy the Dave's Doppelgold and the Dutch-style one

^ I've noticed that microbreweries are moving more aggressively into the 'normal' beer space. I guess they've realized that the market for the ultra-niche varieties has been fully tapped, and they are probably better off trying to chase the masses.

For example, Molson Coors recently discontinued the longstanding, century-old regional beer label Standard Lager, so one of the local microbreweries stepped up with its take on a replacement for it with the cleverly named Generic Lager

Lagers and lighter beers are definitely popular with craft brewers now. Somewhat ironically they are harder to nail down than hoppy IPAs!

Great Lakes Brewing Canuck Pale ale and Premium lager remain my staples, but I've been enjoying this one from Left Field lately as well: https://www.leftfieldbrewery.ca/beers/ice-cold-beer

Which I love. I've become a lager/pilsner drinker as I've gotten older. My IPA days are a distant memory.

I still love a good IPA but can only drink 1 or 2 nowadays. After that it’s lagers only.

Also I remember you saying you were coming to Toronto at some point - if it hasn’t happened yet happy to recommend some good beer (and other drink type) spots!

We still are planning on it. This last year has been one of transition, so we put traveling out east on the back burner until we were all set up.

I'll definitely hit you up for some recommendations, and if possible, I'm always down for meeting up for a drink too.
