Thanks! I'd never really noticed that building before, but I really like it.

Nice sunny day

Went to the Ranney Gorge, which the Trent River flows through.

Love to know if this sedum type plant is a native?? It is growing around a gnarly old cedar and in cracks of limestone.

A walk to the superette for a drink.

Set to my fave local singer (Amelia Curran), not to be confused with my fave local band (The Once).

I was surprised watching bits of Brian Mulroney’s funeral how heavily it was snowing in Montreal (and surprised they weren’t clearing Notre Dame’s steps!)

That plant at Ranny Gorge looks interesting. I would feel tempted to step on it to see what happens. Looks more like something I'd see here if it were in a botanical garden.

Today I explored four sections of two creeks. Was surprised some of the underpasses were clean. Like no graffiti and very little garbage. And while the water was clear pretty much everywhere, one section only was murky for some reason. Clear below and clear above it. Curious to know why that happens.

Every time I get close to the underpass I wonder if I'm going to encounter a crackhead or an ogre or a troll.

I drove up to Port Lambton this morning, nice day but cold. There was no snow south of the 401, a bit of snow around Chatham, and quite a bit of snow up around Wallaceburg.

The snow melted quickly on the green wheat fields but stuck on bare ground.

The Snye river is actually that blue

Yesterday was a pretty typical late March day, high of 12c and overcast with the sun poking out ever now and again. Currently it is 3c and sunshine, on its way to a high of 13c.

Found this guy hitching a ride after a walk with the dog, identified as a Dermacentor tick (rocky mountain tick or Dog tick) and fortunately does not carry Lyme but does carry Rocky Mountain Spotted fever. Very common in my area, and always having to make sure we check for ticks after being in the tall grasses and open hillsides.

+1C and sunny in Moncton at 3 PM.

We got only a few cm of snow from the storm last night, and it mostly all melted. The majority of the precipitation here was rain, and we had a pretty wild temperature swing overnight (-1C ay midnight, +9C at 5 AM and back to 0C by 8 AM). The bulk of the precipitation fell during the brief pulse of warm air.

Central and northern NB did not fare as well, with significant snowfall, wind and power outages for thousands of people. Inland New England also got significant snow (25-35 cm) while coastal areas like Boston got nothing. It was an inland event.

Was covered in those things once about 15 years ago. Got them all off before they could start doing their thing luckily.

Also, always amazes me how early the willows leaf out in the Okanagan.

Very interesting last couple of days.

Left for Ottawa Saturday afternoon. Snowing in Montreal when I left. About 7-8 cm on the ground maybe. Somewhere between the QC/ON is where the line was and from that point on, there was almost no snow. By the time you approach Ottawa, snow was gone and it was even sunny. About -2C.

Travelled back to Montreal this afternoon. Sunny but chilly. You really understand how strong that March sunshine is. That 7-8 cm on the ground had completely melted and the only bits of snow remaining was in shady areas. From the time I left (-6C) till I came back 24 hours later (1C), the temperature was always below freezing which means all the melting is 100% due to the sun.

Low this morning in Ottawa was -9C (wind chill of -18). Brutal! This turned out to be a "noticeable" cold stretch (3 consecutive highs below -3C). Last time we had something as cold so late in the season was 6 years ago in 2018.

The warmspot was Pemberton, BC at 19.1C

Warmest low was Solander Island, BC at 7.3C

A beautiful day, currently 12.9 and sunny. The cold spell last week didn't have much effect. It wasn't cold enough for ice to form in the shallow (about two foot deep) pond out behind my house and the ground did not freeze despite our lack of snow cover. It slowed down the progress of plants and trees a little, but spring flowers continued to bloom. Lots of daffodils out right now and I even saw a nice red tulip blooming down the street.

7C and sunny. Back to decent weather. Nothing spectacular as these temperatures are close to normal but at least we are out of the nasty cold spell we were in.

Low of -5C (wind chill of -10) this morning.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 17.5C.

Warmest low was Sisters Island, BC at 8.6C.
