Not much new information but it confirms that site prep is well under way.

For reference, the Summerland building at University Crescent and Pembina is 16 floors and the U of M's Pembina Hall residence buildings is 14 floors, so if this goes ahead it will stand out among the tall buildings nearby.

225 Carlton at TNS is 24 stories (87 m) according to the forms diagrams. So if it is a similar height it will define the skyline of South Winnipeg and the city from afar.

I can't wait to see more!

All that said, we've seen one post reference to this project and nothing else. Is this conjecture or was the poster an industry insider?

Particularly when you realize that there still is a 13th floor, it's just labelled differently. It's like the Pascal's Wager of number luck.

Well....100% it is an actual proposal. That it makes it to construction is up to the developer. It has a pretty fancy architect from Toronto and is proceeding fairly quickly.

Is a "pretty fancy architect" one who wears a scarf and a bow tie?

If you don’t wear an ascot you aren’t a fancy architect.

Summerland is quite old so not surprising there, does anybody know if the newer 300 main has a named and labeled 13th floor or does it skip to 14?

Also, throwing my vote in that Biff is a reliable source of information.

@Biff, any word on when the developer will pull the trigger? If the design has been made it must be close to being started, right?
