^^I'd love to see that same shot taken from that same angle but from 10-15 years ago (unless that's already floating around somewhere else on another thread.)

Crazy to see how much this State capitol has boomed into a big metropolis and still in progress.

Right and 15 years in the future that current skyline photo will look outdated when all the new towers and infill is completed.

That last one - agreed. It has a truly unique perspective on the massive scope of downtown and its periphery. Great shot.

Wow, amazing shot, and probably the best at showing the breadth and depth of the Austin skyline.

Not a skyscraper. But this is the 2,500+ acre and growing Tesla site in east Austin. Since the site selection announcement, Tesla has purchased ~400 additional acres and is reportedly looking for more. Also, a second factory for refining Lithium will be built on site. The product being refined for Lithium will come from a mine in North Carolina that Tesla recently signed a long term partnership with. Austin Giga Factory construction officially began this week with cement being poured for columns on the south end of the site.

While we're on the topic of large Tech campuses, this is Apple's Austin Campus #2. It will have 15,000 employees at buildout. Nearby Apple Campus #1 has 7,100 employees including contractors last I heard. The link is for a pretty good drone video.

I remember driving through Austin on 35 back in 89. Quite a few times in fact. A different city all together.
