Yup. According to this right of way closure permit, the six months of excavation starts on 11/23 and goes through May 2020.

How deep are they going? The podium will be massive as it is, didn't realize they were going to dig down so the podium will be even bigger than I thought.

This truly surreal to me even though I knew this was going to eventually happen through a friend in the know even if he was off by a few floors. I guess I will hold my applause until it goes from prep to u/c. Maybe then it will totally sink in the significance of this project. This time we won't be disappointed. I'm hoping we will see a skyline impact by this time next year, or am I being a little optimistic?

It should be above ground by then, but it probably won't have a big impact yet. They have six month of excavation, and it always takes a while to get above ground from deep pits like this one will have.

I think it was mentioned a few pages back that the crane will be somewhere in the 900-1,000 foot range, can't remember the exact number.

It will be exciting when they rise the crane that last time to its full height. It will be the Tallest Structure Austin will have seen. (temporary attachment) Now waiting for excavation to commence. I am still not in the fan category yet, however, hoping for the best with the garage screening facing the historic Bremond Block.

But WOW, what a building. What a game changer for the city and skyline.

Crane plans. This shows the location of them. It'll be the one along Guadalupe that reaches the full height. The "hook height" - the height the hook can clear, is 865 feet. The peak will reach 925 feet according to what the FAA permit said. The shorter crane will still clear 516 feet at the hook.
