It’s official: Uber Technologies will open an office of at least 3,000 employees in Deep Ellum, and it plans to turn Dallas into its largest hub outside of its San Francisco headquarters, company officials told The Dallas Morning News on Tuesday.

I know this will probably be a little bit of nonsense, but every time I check this thread out it brings back great memories of how much my family enjoyed those weekly visits with the Southfork clan of Dallas. What a great T.V. romp that was. I know they tried to bring it back, but it just didn't quite have the casting power like before, especially after Larry Hagman passed.

it's still better than anything that comes out this decade (although game of thrones and house of cards are great shows in their own right) with still great acting.
Amen to that. A lot of promise for Dallas (My favorite Texas city btw).
I hope you guys keep up the pro-growth mindset and pro-business climate. A lot of good things will happen continuing the remarkable trend. While others decline, Texas succeeds.
Prescott Realty Group has been working for more than two years to redevelop the former Republic Insurance offices at 2727 Turtle Creek Boulevard just north of Dallas' Uptown district.
The more than half-century-old insurance buildings have been vacant for years and are being cleared to make way for three new towers. Offices, condos, a hotel and high-rise apartments will sit on the more than 5-acre site.

The 15-story luxury hotel will be built on top of a new 10-story parking garage at Ross and Harwood Street. It’s one of the few high-end hotels to be built from the ground up in the Central Business District in decades.
Dallas architect HKS designed the tower, which is scheduled to open in 2022.
